Dopplegangers
It's been a while since I blogged about anything substantial or pragmatic. Time was not much of a constraint though. Mainly it's because when I blog, I blog rather spontaneously, and that "spontaneity" didn't come about much these few days. Well, it did, obviously, and thus here I am trying to write about something half the people that bother to type heesanginhu.blogspot.com into the explorer bar (or in many cases type "hee" and scroll down to find the appropriate address) don't want to or already know, assuming that the other half totally ignore any lengthy and convoluted posts.
Doppleganger. Some might've heard of them (or the effect, depending on your beliefs) some might have seen pictures. But I doubt anyone I know have encountered one before. Since the chances are one to a six billion thereabout.
Doppleganger, sometimes called Doublewalkers, are a true replicate of oneself living in some other part of the Earth. It is said that a doppleganger of a person would look exactly like the person him/herself, with even more identical physical traits than twins. So wow, great, a clone living in some other part of the world whom i'd never ever get to meet for the rest of my life, how interesting.
Well, according to the theory/myth (and this is the interesting part) you better hope you don't come across your doppleganger, because once you do, you'd DIE (yeap). There were numerous incidents in which these cases "occured" since the 17th century, and of course like any other myths, without any real visual proof.
There was also a Japanese film of the same title, and although I have not actually seen the movie, the plot goes that if a person meets his own doppleganger one of them has to die. This meaning that the two cannot co-exist with the knowledge of each other's existence.
They say that everyone has their "own" doppleganger. This was the part that really got me thinking. And doubting. And realising how STUPID this whole doppleganger thing was. Think about it. If everyone has their own doppleganger, that means that there are only about 3 billion people in the world, and the other 3 billion are just mere copies of them!
Now THAT doesn't make sense because if that's the case, the chances of bumping into someone that you know that looks like that other someone skyrockets. I cannot really do the math, but the chances are still pretty high. Assuming you travel a lot.
And then it got me thinking. What about all the famous people? Imagine you're a nigger living in the ghettos of Detroit. You pick up scrap metals for a living, smoke pot more than you respire, play ball and listen to rap songs. One day you walk by a TV store without robbing it, and you notice a nigger that looks just like you on a TV show. You stare closer and you squint your big ass nigger eyes. He looks just like you, and I mean it's he's so identical to you to the extent of being as if you're staring in the mirror instead of the TV screen. Except he's wearing a nice expensive suit that's probably worth more than your cardboard box (oops I mean house) and has his name being run across the screen as he speaks eloquently, giving his oratory. His name goes something like this.
Barack Obama.
Now assuming, although quite pretty much unlikely, you can read, and somehow overheard the news that Obama's the president of the United States, AND know that Detroit is actually part of America. What would be your next move? Obviously you'd publicise. Get some publicity, news coverage, shizz like that. Interviews in maybe shows like Oprah, and who knows what else.
The problem is, if every famous person has a doppleganger, then that's kinda wtf.
And like any other urban legend, there are scientists who entail, trying to find a "logical explanation" behind the phenomenon. Apparently dopplegangers are just false images, much like delusions due to a cock up in the brain. Then why did they all die after seeing their dopplegangers? I don't know. Must be a queer coincidence or just sheer bad timing. If you think about it, if you're sick and about to die, there's a pretty good chance your brain's probably messed up as badly.
That's about it for dopplegangers. Interesting?
